Discord, by text
Every channel, one conversation.
Crossline connects a Discord channel to people who would rather text. Messages posted in the channel arrive on their phones, and their replies post right back in the channel. Nobody gets left out of the group.
How it works
A server admin connects one channel. After that, anyone who opts in from their phone can follow along and reply by text. There's no app to download.
If you text
- Get the Crossline number from the channel's pinned message, or from an invite text an admin sent you.
- Text
JOINto that number, or replyYESto the invite. - Reply with the name you want people to see. Your phone number is never shown.
- That's it. Reply to any text to post in the channel.
If you run the server
- Add the Crossline bot to your Discord server.
- Run
/crossline connectin the channel you want to share. - Crossline pins a note with the number and how many people follow by text.
- Use
/crossline inviteto text someone an invite. They still have to replyYESthemselves.
Text messaging terms
You only get texts from Crossline after you opt in from your own phone. An admin can invite you, but nobody can sign you up.

Questions
Will people see my phone number?
No. Your messages show under the name you choose. Server admins see only the last four digits, so they can tell members apart.
Who can see what I text?
Everyone who can read the connected Discord channel, plus the other people following it by text. Treat it like posting in the group.
Do I need a Discord account?
No. Texting is the whole point. You can follow and reply without ever opening Discord.
Will a busy channel flood my phone?
No. Crossline bundles messages that arrive close together into one text, sends at most 12 texts an hour, and holds messages during quiet hours.
Is my number shared or sold?
Never. Your mobile number and opt-in are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing. Read the Privacy Policy.
How do I get my server connected?
Crossline is in early access. Email support@crossline.stream and tell us about your community.
